Dr. Mollie Rubin is a Senior Research Associate at Policy Studies Associates. She is an expert on the improvement of K-12 public education, chiefly the intersection of education policy and the organizational contexts in which reform efforts occur. She is particularly interested in the topics of program implementation and evaluation, school and district leadership, professional learning, and teacher quality. Currently, she is engaged in a study focused on the roles and career paths of assistant principals that is funded by the Wallace Foundation. She coauthored a novel synthesis of 20 years of research on assistant principals. Dr. Rubin has published in leading peer-reviewed journals including Educational Researcher, American Journal of Education, and Educational Administration Quarterly. Prior to her current position, she was a professor at Peabody College, Vanderbilt University. She earned her PhD in Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. She was also a middle school teacher in Brooklyn, NY, which continues to drive her passion to see all children receive the high-quality education they deserve.
